The morning after the fight, needing some eat, Maxon tries, unsuccessfully to make breakfast. After keeping notes on how organics make the most important meal of the day, Sprocket puts on a chef’s hat…because that’s what great chefs wear, and makes a much better meal for everyone.
After some investigation, El Thunis was the tax collector for House Delven and he was using the silo as a hub for his collections. And, since the silo was severely damaged in the storm and the fight with the worms, we decided to move the collections into the St. Cuthbert’s temple since it is the remaining structure in town that is the least damaged.
Andholm and his automaton horse/carriage returned. It’ll take about two days to get to Pine Peak from here so we elected to leave the automaton with the villagers to be able to transport the tax collection to House Delven.
Prior to leaving, Raul informed the Matron of the Temple the body of the Innkeeper needs to be interned and the tax collection will also be stored here before leaving for House Delven.
At about 3pm, Andholm and party head off for Starfall Academy.
At nightfall, it is very hot and humid that forced us to camp inside Vera’s sanctuary.
In the morning, there were signs of a big fight. There were footprints of human outriders from Drega and Deluce lands, humanoids (Orcs and Gnolls) and the acrid taste in the air…like from a black dragon’s breath weapon.
During our search of the area, we happened upon both of the Halflings from Lighet. And with some poor negotiations on their part, they agreed to be our guides to Starfall.
On the way, the horses need to stop at Jumpris Lake for a drink because of the heat and humidity. Andholm takes them to the lake while we wait on the side of the road.
In the distance, in the direction of the lake came a large, bird-like screech. We hide inside the tree line while Bilarro climbs a tree to get a better look at what’s going on.
As the screeching gets closer, it comes into view…a Roc, and with Andholm in one of its talons and still fighting.
The Roc sees us, drops Andholm and the fight is on.
After defeating the Roc, Sprocket states, ‘This designate has a good recipe for that’ as it points at the Roc.
