12 Aug 2015 Session Narrative

Day 5

Bilarro, Vera and Islay (The Three) return to the sewers to search for about a half a day. As they search, they are leaving markers as they make their way to Blackstone prison. By placing the markers, the three can find their way to Blackstone prison from anywhere in the city.

It is lunch-time at Blackstone, and Maxon’s cellmate is a half-orc named Jor. Jor is about a head taller, wider and better built than Maxon.

Raul is in the middle of some research with an archivist on getting a lawyer for Maxon. The lawyer is appealing to the court to get Maxon released, the Magistrate stated that Maxon is being held on the suspicion on adding in a prison-break and the hearing is being held tomorrow morning at 9am.

Day 6

Bilarro sent out word to his contacts that he wants to get in touch with Edrio that they have his money…but they really don’t.

Gitran, the gnome working on Sprocket showed it a series of pictures of docents and asked if any of these looked familiar…none did.

The Three are in their apartment waiting for Edrio as his carriage arrives. Through the door, one of Edrio’s bodyguards asks where is the money. They have it, but he needs to return to the carriage and wait for ten minutes. As the bodyguard returns to the carriage, Edrio yells at him in Elvish to get back up there. Bilarro goes invisible in an attempt to hide from the carriage, but was seen as he got within 10 feet from the carriage.

It is 9am at the courthouse, and Raul is before the same Justice. He states there is no legal reason to continue to hold Maxon, but the greater good is being served by keeping Maxon in prison. Raul is going to appeal.

Bilarro was able to follow the carriage to the same sewer entrance as before.

Noticing the cell door isn’t closed or locked, then a rhythmic pounding on the cell doors as Maxon and Jor prepare for a fight. Jor puts on his bracers made from utensils and Maxon breaks off a table leg as four inmates enter their cell.

Day 7

The Three are planning to leave Lanterum through the North Gate. Islay was able to buy a launch and hire four whores to man the oars for four days.
By the end of the day, The Three are out of the North Gate and Sprocket is finished with +1 armor enchantment.

Day 8

Assistant Chief Justice arrives with Maxon’s things and asks about the Red Queen because he believes s/he might be behind Maxon’s attack. Maxon sent Vera a message arrow telling her to meet at the Inn. She gets it.

Raul sees Maxon leaving the prison.

Sprocket returns to the Mauve Baboon.

It is mid-day and the Party is at the Mauve Baboon discussing on recent events. Nerullian worshiping? Justicators would know. The Red Queen linked to Nerull? A brothel in High Port might know. At this point, the Party split up. Maxon, Islay, Raul and Sprocket head to the sewers. Looking up into the Prison’s cafeteria and the Idald body went missing.

That evening, at Sven’s there is a half-orc and a warforged acting as guards. Bilarro enters a room invisible just as a John leaves. Bilarro notices a a flickering light when he moved a wall sconce from there was none. From the outside, he was able to unlock the window to Sven’s office. Looking around the office, he notices there is a peeping-tom space between the rooms. Bilarro returning to the office and desk. Unlocking the desk, taking all the paperwork within by stuffing them in a pillowcase and tossing the room to make it look like a common burglar did it and setting it on fire.

12 July 2015 Session Narrative

Bilarro, Islay and Vera are together and laying low in a safe house in Low Port.

Sprocket is still being upgraded.

After about a day, Bilarro, Islay and Vera found a flat to rent near the Low Port Customs House. It is on the third floor with one window and the front door cannot be locked.

During his process of inscribing the new runes on Sprocket’s plates, William Crane found evidence of a previously powerful enchantment that was poorly covered up.

Meanwhile…in jail, Maxon receives a chicken breast and veggie paste for lunch and Raul gets nutri-loaf. Both are not eating.

On day three, William Crane finds a small slot on Sprocket’s back in between where it’s shoulder blades would be. Sprocket was asked if it knew the slot was there, and it responded it did not. This halted the enchantment so he can consult with his colleagues.

In the Safe House, the three noticed a quite fancy carriage pull up outside. two half-elves and an elderly half-elf get out. A few minutes later there is a knock at the door. The elderly half-elf at the door had labored breathing and he asked for the woman who had him shot. A small fight ensued and the half-elf with labored breathing and one of the bodyguards left, but the other bodyguard got wounded and was left behind and questioned. He stated the labored breathing guy was named Edrio.

At the jail, more chicken/veggies and nutri-loaf for lunch, both Maxon and Raul are still not eating.

Bilarro, Islay and Vera head off for the sewers.

Back at the jail, Maxon’s cell receives a knock. The cell door opens and it is Maxon’s first boss asking why he is jail.

At this point, William Crane returns with a Gnome. It appears that this Gnome has more knowledge/experience with Warforged because he has a bandolier with many tools and a pair of multi-faceted glasses.

Meanwhile…in the sewers, Bilarro, Islay and Vera are waiting a couple of hours, presumably for nightfall.

On day four, Maxon receives pork and veggies for lunch and Raul gets nutri-loaf.

The Gnome worked all night on Sprocket and discovered a few interesting things. The previous runes were marred, broken and then covered over. But the most interesting thing is the slot in Sprocket’s back. It is a slot for a Docent. It is an augmentation by an intelligent magical item, but when this particular docent was removed it reset Sprocket back to factory settings. To know any more, the docent should be found, but with gem-dust found at the bottom of the slot is a bad sign that the it might be damaged or destroyed.

At the Camorine Estate during the breakfast hour, Bilarro, Islay and Vera ponder if Edrio is working for or knows the Red Queen and if he can send a message arrow to the Chief Justice…but the only thing Camorine says the best thing to do is to get Vera somewhere where she can do the least amount of damage.

In Raul’s cell, the Assistant Chief Justice Balmer sets down a table with two chairs and uncovered a plate with an assortment of meats and cheeses. Balmer begins questioning Raul about Vera. At the end of Raul’s questioning, Maxon sees through his open cell door walking down the hall with Balmer.

Meanwhile…in the sewer, Bilarro,Islay and Vera were arguing loud enough for Raul to hear. Vera noticed a human female noticing Raul reacting to Bilarro, Islay and Vera arguing. Islay mentions the tail and motions there are four more and they go further into the sewers.

Back in the jail, Maxon’s old boss tells him there is a witness to what Vera did, Edrio, and he has a lieutenant in the prison. The plan is to have Maxon moved to general population to give him an opportunity to get his hands on him.

A couple of hours later in the sewers, they are in the only clean area and cannot find out where they are going but they were able to find a very finely dressed corpse bearing the sigil of House Idald. The body appears to be eviscerated after a protracted battle by a light weapon, perhaps a rapier.

At this point, Maxon has been moved to General Population and he found the half-elf he was looking for, Gibbin. Gibbin was pointed out to Maxon within a group of other half-elves.

Sprocket is still being worked on and the three in the sewers are very lost after wandering around for six hours.

19 April 2015 Session Narrative

19 April 2015 Session Narrative.

On day eight from Bridgeton, this designate and the other organics in the party came across a campsite occupied by three human-organics and their organic beasts-of-burden.

Two of the human-organics appear to be filling in a form of subservient role to the human-organic who appears to be getting intoxicated by imbibing large quantities of what looks like ale.

The intoxicated human-organic states it’s designation to be Sir Tain Lee and the two subservients are designated as Beuford and Alsas. According to designate Sir Tain Lee, designate Sir Tain Lee was a Knight-class that has been released from it’s oath of fidelity by designate Duke Dregga.

When Designate Sir Tain Lee was asked their function in the area was, designate Sir Tain Lee replied with watching travelers. This designate has knowledge of Knight-Class organics, and those designates who are of that class are not known for obfuscation.

Designate Sir Tain Lee was also asked if that designate has encountered any undead organics. Designate Sir Tain Lee replied in the positive, several weeks ago in the area of the town designated as Chense.

Designate Sir Tain Lee enquired if that designate and designates Beuford and Alsas could accompany this designate and the others on our trip. This designate and the others didn’t disagree. This designate will be grateful to have an organic that can fight.

This designate the party continued with our trip to Lanterum after waiting for designates Sir Tain Lee, Beuford and Alsas to collect their belongings and break camp…and to this designate, it took a considerable amount of time.

On day fourteen from Bridgeton, this designate and the party encountered, what looks like either an organic-human or half-elf on the side of the road. After some investigation, it would appear the dead organic was a Road Agent for the United Merchant Guild. A guild this designate has no knowledge of.

To the South-East, there is a large pile of dead organics and further south on the highway, there are signs of a sprung trap. A trap that looks like one the designates from Axion would deploy to render organic-horses lame…but evidence shows that the trap was activated some time ago because the mechanism to activate the trap is missing.

At the pile of dead organics, there is an organic-beast that this designate knows too well…designate carrion crawler. After a short fight, the organic-beast was dispatched. Two of the organics in the party went searching through the pile of dead organics for loose currency and gems. After an unacceptable amount of time, they found about 500gp worth of gems. Since this designate doesn’t become sickened, those organics who collected the gems can keep them because this designate knows the stench of rotting organics can never be fully washed off.

From the pile of dead organics, there is a path that heads off to the west and one off to the east. The one off to the west comes to a clearing where there are palisades being hastily being built by, according to the sigil, the House Bangerstorm. After some observation, there appears to be no officers, only enlisted, no one higher rank of Sergeant. All the organics appear to be in a frightened state and not from Redgulus. After some investigating, these organics are from Axion and describe how they arrived this far south by a being surrounded by a heavy fog/mist and then they were in a different location than the day before.

The path to the east, there is a group of organics that appear to be Elven that could have dispatched the small group of organics from the party with ease, but chose to answer a question on how they arrived in this location. They answered they didn’t know. All they know there was a heavy fog/mist and then they were in a different location than the day before…just like the designates from Axion. This designate can relate with both groups of organics with the fear and uncertainty with reactivating in an unknown location.

To the south of our location, there are the sounds of battle. As this designate and the others arrive, this designate witnesses a large group of organic-Dwarves attacking an even larger group, perhaps thousands of organic-Kobolds…and dispatching the organic-Kobolds with ease. The sight was mighty to behold. It would appear the organic-Dwarves arrived in the area by similar means.

At this time, there is a familiar heavy fog/mist surrounding this designate and the organics. The fog/mist coalesced into a vague organic-humanoid form and stated it’s designation as Shyft. This designation witnessed some optical and auditory anomalies that resembled the organic-beast carrion crawler, which was odd, because the organic-beast just appeared out of nowhere.
After a short fight, designate Shyft deposited this designate and the other organics on the highway and dispersed.

The designates from Axion lined up under designate Sir Tain Lee’s banner and the organic-Dwarves followed their own banner while this designate and the other organics in the party are approximately two days from Lanterum.

01 Mar 2015 Session Narrative

01 Mar 2015 Session Narrative

(This session, the party was introduced to a new character…Duskwatcher Zhaolei)

The best Inn in Castle Fortroy, The Roaring Lion, is all full…but the best Inn in the Undercroft, The Hanged Reaver at the rich end of the Undercroft has three rooms available.

When we arrived, both Islay and Zhaolei were keen on some gambling.

After some investigating at the Inn, some of the rumors going around is, at some point after the Nerull Bloodmoon Festival, a Captain Akadias went missing in the area of Gerda’s Brothel. Perhaps the Captain was murdered, but since the Captain went missing the brothel hasn’t been doing well.

As The Party makes it’s way to the brothel, an Illumian named Duskwatcher Zhaolei tagged along.

When we arrived at the brothel, the constabulary wasn’t there, but the Duchess Fortroy’s personal soldiers were outside.

After some convincing, we were allowed to enter the crime scene.

Once inside, it appeared that all the whores and Johns were killed…and for quite some time. After some more investigating, there appeared to be many different parts of many different bodies. This also appears that this was a Nerull ritual…a festivus, a flag waving. The PArty was able to put some of the evidence together that Capt. Akadias, who went missing, might have been one of the victims here in Gerda’s. The Party continues upstairs into one of the fancier rooms, it appears to be Gerda’s and it has a note, written in blood on one of walls “Find me in City of Canals.”

The Party returned to the Hanged Reaver, just in time for the late meal being served. As The Party was being served, an Archivist named Curvo meets us at our table to tell us that the Duchess requests our presence tomorrow morning. Unlikely able to refuse, we agreed to meet with the Duchess.

As The Party arrived, Curvo meet with us as our escort through the Castle.

While at Castle Fortroy, there appears to be a lot of war preparations being made. Cannons on the battlements, Duke Fortroy barking orders and three different mercenary sigils on display: Black Hand, Black Spear and from Axion, Mountain Shield.

As The Party enters the Duchess’ chambers it is clear that she isn’t doing well. Her chambers are a mess and she is unwashed and she has obviously been crying. She said that she has been mourning the deaths of her two sons. She asked were Gerda was because she has the Duchess’ medicine. When we replied we didn’t know, she threw her chamber pot at us…catching some of us with the splatter.

Upon leaving, Curvo said that The Duchess might be addicted to Gerda’s medicine and posted a 5000gp reward for finding either Gerda or her medicine.

The Party returned to Gerda’s Brothel, now the Duchess’ guards have moved on, and we did a room-by-room search of all 25 rooms…and ~20 minutes later we didn’t find much more than our initial walkthrough. We returned to the room with the note written on the wall and found some signs of an alchemical table was present, but now, it is missing.

Now, The Party split up; Team Whore and Team Garrison.

Team Whore – found out what medicine Gerda was selling: Devil Weed/Blood and the City of Canals means the brothels of Lanterum.

Team Garrison – at noon found out from Capt. Drevie that the zombies have slowed since the ending of the Blood Moon Festival.

Team Whore – figuring Gerda needed to get out of town, fast so they made their way to the Customs House and interviewed one of the agents. He said Gerda left under the cover of darkness on the Black Finn eight days ago.

Both teams meeting back at the Hanged Reaver, we decided to follow Gerda to Lanterum and we informed Curvo what we are doing.

After finding out, it would take ~19 days via the Ancient Highway or ~11 days via the fastest ship down the river. We decided to go via the highway.

On the second day, The Party met with a Knight Errant, formerly from House Dregga named Sir Tinley.

On the seventh day, we came upon a group of six wights…(and this is when we called the game. Vera did her buffs: +3/hit, +3/damage, +3/save/fear)

08 February 2015 Session Narrative

08 February Session Narrative.

(Beginning fight with the Undead.)

At the end of the fight, there was a few things to loot.
1250gp worth of gems
Velem note, written in Celiestial – about the Blood Moon Festival under Bridgton and someone named Vanderscaled.

About a week later, a week after the Blood Moon Festival, we arrived at Bridgeton.

We noticed as we approached the main gate from the river, the town guards were searching for weapons. Everyone elected to put their weapons in the Bag Of Holding.

As we arrived and searched at the gate, a page was sent to retrieve an Archivist because we have news on our attack from the undead.

The page returned with an apprentice archivist, Gim, and he asked the who/what/hows of the attack and then went off to his superiors.

As we entered the city, we can see this was to be a trade city, but with Lanterum being close, made that moot. And it is very crowded.

As we looked for Bridgeton’s finest Inn, Maxon and Sprocket were sought out and asked if we were interested in joining Fortroy’s Army…we declined. But the invitation was left open if we were to change our minds.

04 Jan 2015 Session Narrative.

+1 Studded Leather Armor
(2) +1 Breast Plate
+1 Leather Armor
+1 Banded Mail Armor: Sprocket claimed this for when it gets it’s armor plates upgraded.

68 + 335/gems cp
4180/gems gp

Alabaxus gave 1500gp for the dragon head and an additional 200gp for the choice cuts.

The party rested for two days in the shit grounds for the three day trip to New Veshar..but our final destination is Castle Fortroy. We decided to follow the river south to Castle Fortroy, but the trip to the river will take three weeks from New Veshar.

About three weeks from Castle Fortroy, at dusk, something very unpleasant is about to happen.
30 zombies, 1 gast and 5 ghouls come this way…it seems we have found the undead path.

(At this point, I am unsure if we rolled initiative or not. -Chad)

14 Dec 2014 Live Session Narrative.

14 Dec 2014 Session Narrative.

@ the cotillion, the town’s people are gathering the materials needed to make a tent because there is a large storm on the horizon.

We offer assistance to someone who appears to be the Mayor’s wife…and she was making everyone’s lives a hell with her constant nagging and barking orders

We notice there is something along the lines of a tournament being set up.

Raul was selected to give the opening prayer by the the Mayor’s wife…she believing he is a Palorian (I think. -Chad) priest that was hired to do give the opening prayer.

Islay and Vera were drafted into providing the entertainment by the Mayor’s wife…again, she believing that they were the entertainment they hired. Sprocket was handed a tool box and instructed to report for stage maintenance. Sprocket declined by dropping the tool box as the Mayor’s wife turned and walked away.

At this point, Sprocket and Maxon went to the only inn for lodging.

Once inside the inn, it was a madhouse. There were people everywhere, waiting for rooms. When Maxon and Sprocket reached the front desk, the inn keeper wasn’t in the best of moods. We took advantage of the confusing situation and took the rooms that were booked for the entertainment.

Since, we had a some time to kill, Sprocket and Maxon went into the inn’s tavern. We grabbed a table and the bar maiden to ask us for our order. We gave it to her and we asked about what was happening in town today. She said, outside of the obvious cotillion, there was some trouble on the road to the south. Also, we found out that most of the town’s people are not from the town, but from miles away, conscripted into providing the labor to get the cotillion ready.

We were able to piece together that the entertainment for tonight’s event might have been attacked, and our party was mistaken for them.

Sprocket and Maxon meet up with Raul and tell him what the bar maiden told us about the trouble on the road to the south while we wait for the cotillion to start.

After Raul’s inspiration prayer about how war was coming and everyone needs to get to making babies and Islay’s and Vera’s hillbilly rendition of Thunderstruck, there was a thunder-clap that scared a bunch of people.

Maxon, through all the turmoil of the storm, was able to hear the voice of a Blue Dragon.

Outside of the tent, Bilarro climbs to the top of one of the buildings to get a better look at what is going on. While up there, he could see there was a familiar looking Black Dragon coming up from the south. It would appear that Black dragon is attacking Blue dragon because the Blue dragon is encroaching on the Black’s dragon territory.

These two beasts are very large and are getting pretty banged up and they are getting closer to the ground we needs to be concerned about collateral damage when the beasts reach the ground.

Where are the town guards?

There was a large lightning strike that vaporized the Mayor’s wife.

About ½ hour later, the rain eases and the dragons appear to have moved on.

As we leave for Balcorran to hire a tracker, and also to see what happened to the entertainment, we noticed there are a number of field fires due to the storm. To the south, he come upon some damaged wagons, no bodies just damaged wagons.

Once we arrived at Balcorran, there are a large number of outriders from the Idalad estate…though some looked familiar. Perhaps from the customs house in Lanterum.

Once inside, we head for a tavern and their jobs board and placed a want ad for a tracker.

The third applicant, a Gnome barbarian named Thurrusuck was hired.

On the morning of the seventh day, there are the remains of a large Blue dragon with the choice cuts missing: claws, scales, head, etc. Our tracker suggests that something inhuman did this. Perhaps gnolls.

In about a mile, we approach the outskirts of an inhuman camp. We were not very quiet and we didn’t hide very well.

(And at that point we stopped…just before another battle. -Chad)

02 Nov 2014 Session Narrative

02 Nov. 2014 Live Session Narrative

Arriving at Balcorran, we start negotiations to set up a meeting with Duke Voltaire to ask about the mask with the Aqua Stone.

So in the meantime, we venture into the city looking for a restful crystal so Maxon will be able to sleep in his armor…just in case.

After we get the crystal for Maxon, we return to the Voltaire House.

Outside the House’s gate, we notice the Voltaire’s house archivist, Bangor chastising the groundskeepers-to-be by using the lookout plants which have purple leaves with black ridges.

The Archivist notices us, and we request an audience with the Duke. The Archivist notifies us that the Duke has an opening after dinner…after the 6pm hour.

The Duke has accepted us, and we begin discussing the mask with the missing jewel. We informed him that the mask was in the manifest, but not the jewel. We also informed him the Ogre named Rawhead, the one who sacked Balcorran was killed by the bannerman Morast Vane.

After the meeting, we return the Cammorine estate to find out the he and Prince Archidiem have left for Jobrak.

The following morning we pack up and head for the Lodge, about 2 ½ week journey with a very experienced Tiefling guide/tracker.

When we arrive, the original lodge is gone, but there is a Keep being built. Maxon was able to notice what looks like heads on pikes along the edge of the palisades with obvious signs of battle by Orks, Elves and Humans.

Also noticed, inside the palisades, there are 8 figures hanging by their wrists over a pit.

Once we entered the tent, we did notice that this was an extra-dimensional space and there was a very attractive female devil sent to escort us to see Morast Vane.

We are now before Morast Vane in a very ornate room. Since we have taken care of the Paladin Eater, we might be able to take care of his small undead problem. The Keep seems to be in the middle of a path from the NE to the SW of undead and we are to find out where they are coming from or where they are going and stop them.

After accepting, we figure out that we need to head out for the two week journey to the Idalad Estate. Along the way Raul will bless 2 flasks of water a day…just in case.
But, before we left, we were asked if we require anything by a Tiefling named Alabaxus. Sprocket picked up a compass and a hooded lantern.

On the second day, there is a pile of dead undead. As we entered the area, the ground formed up into a humanoid form. A Grave Dirt Golem. After figuring out that slashing and piercing weapons were not getting the job done, Sprocket used it’s body to bludgeon the Golem.

After cleaning ourselves off, we continue to the Idalad Estate.

When we arrived, Lady Idalad was very contemptuous of us and was either unaware or unconcerned about the undead on her land.

So we left.

Back out on the road, we began our one week journey to Cartway.

When we arrive at Cartway, there seems to be a large, town party for girls in becoming women, a cotillion.
